The amazing thing about stupidity is that, given enough time, it stops being clever — and just becomes... stupid.
This past February, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that billions of dollars stolen under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) were, ahem, "unlawfully seized."
By then, some 330,000 importers had already forked over an estimated $166 BILLION across more than 53 million transactions. 🫨
This theft was crafted by exactly 537 federal politicians. Brilliant.
Now those same business owners find themselves in "Phase Three" of a painfully tedious refund process: hire a lawyer, sue the government, and then maybe their claim will be initiated to start the paperwork of getting their own money back. So what, you won't know anything further until "60 to 90 days" later — good enough for government work.
Here they are again, not even bothering to hide the fraud anymore. 🤷♂️
And with so few Americans actually paying attention... really, why would they?
They are after all, just politicians for sale to the highest bidder.
So Phases One & Two of this tariff-recovery circus are only slightly less absurd but all three are, in a word — stupid. Only a government with zero accountability and zero fear of resulting consequences could pull this off. #SorryGeorge 😢
