Madison Was Right

James Madison, our nation's fourth President and a key architect of the Constitution, once wrote regarding the intended number of members for the House of Representatives: "This ambiguity as to the number of representatives is a great defect in the plan, particularly that it should not be left in the discretion of the government to diminish them."

Yet here we are today, sadly suffering from precisely that outcome — the ratio of population to representation has been left to the discretion of our government, which, true to form, has dubiously enacted a random and permanently capped limit of just 435 members in our beloved House. The 28th Amendment finally remedies that. #435deprived #SaveAmerica
